5-Point Programmatic Thrusts

Picture
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on three basic principles: scholarship, public service, and sisterhood.  These ideals have withstood the test of time and are exemplified through the many programs we sponsor. Each collegiate and alumnae chapter develops programs in reference to the needs of their communities.

Our DCP public service programs are centered around Delta's Five Point Programmatic Thrust to include: Economic Development, Educational Development, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement and International Awareness and Involvement. For more information, click on each program below or contact Tekmekia Gilchrist at [email protected]

1. Educational Development
We invest in the academic success of our youth through programs like Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI. From mentorship to scholarships, we nurture leaders prepared to excel in the classroom and beyond.

2. Economic Development
We promote financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment. Through workshops and community events, we equip individuals and families with tools to build wealth, manage debt, and support Black-owne INternagtionld businesses.

3. International Awareness and Involvement

Our service extends beyond borders. We support global initiatives such as clean water access, disaster relief, and education for girls in underserved nations—reminding us that service is without limits.

4. Physical and Mental Health
We address the holistic wellness of our communities. Whether hosting health fairs, fitness events, or mental health awareness campaigns, DCP prioritizes healthy living—body, mind, and spirit.

5. Social Action
We mobilize voters, advocate for justice, and educate citizens on civic engagement. Through forums, voter registration drives, and partnerships with local leaders, we help shape informed, active communities.
